Ducks 6, Sabres 3: Emerson Etem and Corey Perry each scored two goals as visiting Anaheim kept Buffalo winless at home.

Captain Ryan Getzlaf had a goal and two assists and defenseman Sami Vatanen scored his first goal of the campaign as the Ducks ripped off five unanswered goals to improve to 4-2-1 on their season-long eight-game road trip. Jonas Hiller needed to make only 14 saves for Anaheim.

Cody Hodgson had a power-play goal and an assist and defensemen Henrik Tallinder and Tyler Myers each scored their first goals of the season in the third period as the Sabres absorbed their fourth consecutive defeat. Jhonas Enroth made 23 saves for Buffalo, which dipped to 2-13-1 overall and 0-8-1 at First Niagara Center.

Hodgson buried a one-timer on a feed from Matt Moulson to open the scoring at 7:15 of the middle session, but Getzlaf finished a give-and-go with Dustin Penner to tie it just under 2 1/2 minutes later. Anaheim started to pull away when Vatanen and Etem scored 34 seconds apart for a 3-1 lead entering the final 20 minutes.

Perry blasted a shot by Enroth at 4:50 of the third before Etem tallied 39 seconds later to push the advantage to 5-1. The Sabres inched back on the goals by Tallinder and Myers to get within two with 5:01 to play, but Perry answered Myers' tally 39 seconds later to seal it.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Vatanen's goal was the first this season by a defenseman for Anaheim, which became the last team in the league to get a tally from a blue-liner. He did not return for the third period, however. ... Acquired from the New York Islanders last week, Moulson had a pair of assists to give him 12 points in his last nine games. ... Getzlaf has three goals and seven points in his last five.
