Sharks 4, Coyotes 0: Tommy Wingels recorded a goal and an assist while Antti Niemi made 35 saves as San Jose completed a 2-2-0 road trip.
Logan Couture, Joe Pavelski and defenseman Matt Irwin also scored for the Sharks, who climbed within one point of Los Angeles for fourth place in the Western Conference and host the Kings on Tuesday.
Making his 20th consecutive start, Niemi turned aside 12 shots in the first period, seven in the second and 16 in the third en route to his 23rd career shutout and fourth this season.
Jason LaBarbera finished with 37 saves for Phoenix, which remained four points behind eighth-place Detroit in the West with six games remaining. The Coyotes had won four straight home meetings with the Sharks.
After a scoreless first period, Couture got San Jose on the board at 8:50 of the second. LaBarbera stopped defenseman Jason Demers' one-timer from the top of the right faceoff circle, but Couture buried the rebound from low in the left circle for his 17th goal, tying Patrick Marleau for the team lead.
Wingels doubled the lead 1:48 later as he backhanded a loose puck past LaBarbera from the left circle following a faceoff. Pavelski made it 3-0 with 3:59 left in the period, beating LaBarbera high to the glove side from the right circle.
Irwin capped the scoring with a blast from the top of the left circle during a power play with 1:27 remaining in the third.
