Boston College rushed for a season-high 264 yards and scored on its first six possessions in the Eagles' 48-27 Atlantic Coast Conference victory over visiting Georgia Tech on Saturday.

Opening the day last in the ACC in rushing with 66 yards per game, the Eagles churned out the total on 44 carries. David Bailey produced 83 yards and two scores while receiver Zay Flowers notched his team-leading fifth touchdown on a 22-yard jet sweep.

Sophomore quarterback Phil Jurkovec finished 13-for-21 for 145 yards and added a game-high 94 rushing yards to help the Eagles (4-2, 3-2 ACC) score their most points this season and break a three-game losing streak against GT. He tossed two scores to receiver CJ Lewis.

The victory was only the second for BC over the Yellow Jackets (2-4, 2-3) in ACC play, having beaten them 24-10 behind a big passing day from quarterback Matt Ryan in 2007.

GT freshman Jeff Sims went 12-for-18 for 171 yards with two TDs and an interception, and he ran for a score. He tossed TDs to Ahmarean Brown -- who also rushed for one -- and PeJe' Harris in the first half.

Both teams suffered lopsided defeats last Saturday -- BC losing 40-14 at Virginia Tech while the Yellow Jackets were walloped 73-7 by No. 1 Clemson in their worst loss in the modern era.

But the Eagles started fast by scoring on their first possession after the Yellow Jackets were unsuccessful on a fake punt. Jurkovec took his squad 71 yards in 10 plays, ending it with a TD pass to Lewis at 5:25.

BC defensive end Marcus Valdez recovered a fumble on the second play of the next series, and Jurkovec found Lewis from five yards out to make it 14-0 with 2:58 left.

After Aaron Boumerhi's 41-yard field goal early in the second, the Eagles went up 24-0 on Mike Palmer's 33-yard fumble return at 12:12. Flowers added his scoring run between Sims' two TD passes.

Boumerhi connected from 27 yards with 30 seconds left for a 34-14 lead as BC scored on all five of its first-half possessions.

Bailey scored twice in the second half -- once from 34 yards -- and Sims and Brown tallied for the visitors.
