Malik Cunningham completed 16 of 24 pass attempts for 278 yards with two touchdowns and Javian Hawkins had 174 yards on 16 carries with three touchdowns in Louisville's 48-16 win over Florida State in an Atlantic Coast Conference game Saturday at Louisville, Ky.
The Cardinals, who produced a season-high 569 yards of total offense, achieved their first conference win of the season.
The Seminoles (2-4, 1-4 ACC) opened the scoring on the first possession of the game with a 15-yard touchdown run by quarterback Jordan Travis, but Louisville (2-4, 1-4) scored on four straight drives in the first half to pull away.
Hawkins had two touchdown runs in that stretch, one of 70 yards, and Cunningham completed touchdown passes of 13 yards to Ean Pfeifer and 58 yards to Tutu Atwell.
After Florida State took 6:37 off the clock on a 15-play, 76-yard scoring drive -- capped by Ontaria Wilson's 4-yard touchdown reception from Travis -- Louisville answered with a 28-yard field goal by James Turner to lead 31-14 at halftime.
Hawkins, a sophomore who has 10 career games with at least 100 yards rushing, extended the lead to 38-14 with 8:44 remaining in the third quarter with a 10-yard touchdown run.
Cunningham spread the ball to eight different receivers. Atwell finished with three catches for 129 yards.
Florida State managed to run for 265 yards led by 76 yards on six carries by Lawrance Toafili and 74 yards on nine rushes by La'Damian Webb.
Travis completed 14 of 32 pass attempts for 141 yards with one touchdown and one interception.
In the upset of No. 5 North Carolina last week, Travis completed eight passes for 191 yards and ran 16 times for a career-high 107 yards with two touchdowns and Webb rushed 12 times for a career-best 109 yards.
The Cardinals, who trail 16-5 in their series with Florida State, have won three out of the last five meetings.
Louisville was without two key players in the game. Running back and kick returner Hassan Hall injured his shoulder in the loss last week to Notre Dame. Defensive end Yaya Diaby limped off the field in the first half of that game and did not suit up against Florida State.
