Kellen Mond passed for 221 yards and a touchdown and ran for another score Saturday as Texas A&M dominated Southeast Conference opponent South Carolina 30-6 in College Station, Texas, for its fourth straight win.
Cordarrian Richardson ran for 130 yards on just six carries, including a 75-yard touchdown run, and he also caught a 17-yard scoring pass for the Aggies (7-3, 4-2 SEC), who piled up 540 yards to 260 for the Gamecocks.
South Carolina (4-7, 3-5) wrapped up its conference season, with a date with Clemson set for Nov. 30.
Isaiah Spiller rushed for 129 yards, Mond finished with 47 yards rushing, and Seth Small kicked field goals of 35, 30 and 40 yards for the Aggies.
Ryan Hilinski, South Carolina's freshman quarterback, threw for 175 yards, and the team managed only 45 yards rushing, one week after rushing for just 21 yards on their home field in a 20-15 loss to Appalachian State.
Texas A&M led 13-3 at the half, and it stayed that way until the Aggies began a 14-play drive late in the third quarter, highlighted by Mond's 26-yard pass to Jhamon Ausbon to the Gamecocks' 47-yard line, leading to Small's 40-yarder early in the fourth quarter.
The Aggies put the game away with touchdowns on their next possessions. First came a 1-yard run by Mond with 10:13 left, set up by a 31-yard run by Richardson. Then came Richardson's 75-yard burst with 6:37 remaining.
Parker White's second field goal for the Gamecocks, from 39 yards, finished the scoring.
The Gamecocks didn't convert a third down until about nine minutes remained in the game, after missing on their first 10 tries.
The Aggies dominated the first half with 262 total yards to the Gamecocks' 158, and nearly doubled them in time of possession at 19:57, but led by only 10.
The Aggies' only touchdown of the half came on their third possession. Mond drove them 75 yards, capped by his 17-yard scoring pass to Richardson, who was wide open in a corner of the end zone for a 10-3 lead.
Texas A&M's next drive covered 52 yards but ended when Small missed a 42-yard field goal. Small had given the Aggies a 3-0 lead with his 35-yarder.
Also, on the sixth play of that sequence, South Carolina lost a starting linebacker, T.J. Brunson, to ejection for targeting. The Gamecocks also were without their leading receiver Bryan Edwards, out with a right knee injury.
