A jet-lagged Oregon State team shot 29.1 percent and Keba Keita led Utah with 18 points and 15 rebounds in the Utes' 74-47 victory Thursday night in Salt Lake City.
Due to flight delays out of the Eugene (Ore.) Airport on Wednesday, Oregon State (9-8, 1-5 Pac-12) did not arrive in Salt Lake City until after midnight on Thursday.
Utah (13-5, 4-3) improved to 10-0 at home this season while Oregon State is now 0-6 away from Corvallis (0-3 neutral-court games and 0-3 true road games).
Utah's Deivon Smith, who had a triple-double in a loss at Stanford on Sunday, finished with 14 points, eight assists and four rebounds. Branden Carlson had 17 points and 10 rebounds.
Dexter Akanno led the Beavers with 12 points. No other Oregon State player scored in double figures. The closest was Jordan Pope, who finished with seven points on 3-of-10 shooting. Pope had scored at least 20 points in his four previous games.
Utah led 33-22 at halftime after outscoring Oregon State 18-3 to close the first half.
The Beavers went almost the last 10:49 of the half without scoring. A 3-pointer by Akanno with 2 seconds left ended a stretch of 12 straight missed field goal attempts.
In Utah's 18-0 run before Akanno's 3-pointer, Keita had six points and Smith five.
The Utes scored the first 10 points of the second half behind 3-pointers by Carlson and Gabe Madsen to increase the lead to 43-22 with 16:43 left.
Oregon State did not come closer than 19 points the rest of the game.
Utah outrebounded Oregon State 52-31 and outscored the Beavers 34-12 in the paint. The Utes also outscored Oregon State 17-3 in second-chance points.
The Beavers did not make a field goal in the last 3:40 of the game.
Utah's struggles were shooting 11 of 21 from the free-throw line and getting just eight points from reserve players.
Utah starting point guard Rollie Worster missed his second straight game with a lower-leg injury.
