Nick Martinelli scored 16 points and Ryan Langborg chipped in 14 to boost No. 25 Northwestern to a 56-46 win against host DePaul on Saturday in Chicago.
Northwestern (8-2) recovered from Wednesday's upset loss to visiting Chicago State by defeating the Blue Demons for the sixth time in the past seven meetings.
Brooks Barnhizer scored 11 points to go with a team-high seven rebounds and Boo Buie added 11 points for the Wildcats, who have won four of five overall.
Cold second-half shooting prevented the Blue Demons from sticking around after playing the Wildcats evenly in the first half.
DePaul missed eight of its nine attempts from behind the 3-point arc in the second half while shooting 27.8 percent in the half overall. The Wildcats finished 35.6 percent from the floor in the game compared to 28.9 percent for the Blue Demons.
DePaul (2-8) went nearly 12 minutes between field goals in the second half. Elijah Fisher's trey with 22 seconds to go was the team's first basket since a Fisher layup at the 13:12 mark.
Jeremiah Oden led DePaul with 12 points, while Chico Carter Jr. followed with 11 before leaving the game after suffering an apparent ankle injury with 2:36 to go. Fisher chipped in 10 points.
K.T. Raimey grabbed seven rebounds for the Blue Demons, while Da'Sean Nelson dished five assists.
Northwestern netted its first win on the road as a ranked team since 1969.
Martinelli scored 12 first-half points and was the only player in double figures as the teams went to the locker room tied at 25.
The Wildcats and Blue Demons struggled collectively from beyond the arc, combining to shoot 6-for-30 (20 percent). Langborg proved the exception, though, making two of his five attempts from deep.
Northwestern's other made three in the first half, from Martinelli, gave the Wildcats their largest lead of the first half at 23-16.
DePaul responded by scoring the next six points, including four from Oden, to rally within a point. Fisher converted a three-point play with 20 seconds left before intermission to tie the game.
The Blue Demons lead the all-time series with the Wildcats 21-16.
