Led by Jake LaRavia's 18 points, all five Wake Forest starters scored in double figures as the host Demon Deacons defeated Pittsburgh 91-75 on Wednesday night in Winston-Salem, N.C.
Dallas Walton poured in 16 points, Alondes Williams racked up 15 points and 10 rebounds, Isaiah Mucius had 14 points and Daivien Williamson added 12 points for Wake Forest (18-5, 8-4 Atlantic Coast Conference). Williams nearly notched a triple-double as he was credited with nine assists.
It was a good bounce-back outing for Wake Forest, which had its best ACC stretch in a dozen years end when a four-game winning streak was halted Saturday night at Syracuse.
Femi Odukale poured in 23 points on 10-for-14 shooting from the field to lead Pittsburgh (8-14, 3-8). John Hugley had 17 points and Jamarius Burton supplied 10 points.
Coach Jeff Capel of Pittsburgh was back with the team after missing Sunday's trip to Boston College because of COVID-19 protocols. Still, the Panthers have dropped 11 consecutive ACC road games.
The Demon Deacons, who are trying to build on last month's success when they won six ACC games in January for the first time in 25 years, made 15 of 29 attempts from 3-point range. Topped by LaRavia's four 3s, seven Wake Forest players hit at least one 3-point shot.
Pittsburgh shot 7-for-16 from beyond the 3-point arc.
Wake Forest shot 54.9 percent from the field. The Demon Deacons went 20-for-26 on free throws.
Wake Forest, which scored the game's first nine points, led 46-24 at halftime, aided by eight 3-point baskets. Pittsburgh shot 29.6 percent from the floor in the first half.
The Panthers scored just two points over a stretch of more than six minutes as the Demon Deacons held a 36-18 edge.
This started a busy schedule for the Panthers, who have four games in an eight-day period.
