Freshman Jonathan Davis had 10 points to lead a balanced scoring effort as visiting No. 21 Wisconsin kept Nebraska winless in Big Ten play with a 61-48 decision Wednesday night in Lincoln, Neb.

Five others scored at least eight points for the Badgers (15-6, 9-5 Big Ten), who have split their past six games. Wisconsin, which beat Nebraska for a sixth straight time, shot just 32.3 percent overall but held the Cornhuskers to 30.8 percent in the second half and took advantage of 17 total turnovers by the home team.

Lat Mayen had 14 points and Teddy Allen scored 12 for Nebraska (4-11, 0-8), which recorded its fewest points of the season while dropping its 24th consecutive Big Ten regular-season contest. The Cornhuskers' current eight-game overall slide began after a 110-64 win over NAIA Doane University on Dec. 17.

Despite a poor-shooting first half, Wisconsin led by three at the break. The teams combined to miss their first nine field-goal attempts of the second half before Davis hit a 3-pointer with 16:48 left in the game. A Davis three-point play shortly after put the Badgers up 36-29.

D'Mitrik Trice's trey pushed Wisconsin's lead to 10. Brad Davison's third 3-pointer of the night made it a 46-35 lead for the Badgers, who maintained control of the contest to avoid a third straight road defeat.

Nebraska made eight of its first 12 field-goal attempts, including 4 of 4 from 3-point range. The Cornhuskers used a 12-0 run to lead 22-14 before Wisconsin snapped a scoring drought of 4:54 on a pair of Aleem Ford free throws.

The Badgers went more than six minutes without a field goal and shot 30.3 percent from the field (including 5 of 19 from 3-point range) over the first 20 minutes. However, they benefited from 12 first-half Nebraska turnovers and used a 13-3 run to take the lead. Ford's 3-pointer at the first-half buzzer gave Wisconsin a 30-27 edge at the break.

Nebraska missed nine of its final 11 field-goal attempts in the opening half and finished the game 5 of 15 from long distance.
