No. 21 Notre Dame 78, Brigham Young 68: Jack Cooley recorded 19 points and 13 rebounds and the Fighting Irish rebounded from the previous night's collapse to beat the Cougars in the consolation game of the Coaches vs. Cancer Classic at Brooklyn's Barclays Center.

Jerian Grant also scored 19 and Eric Atkins added 16 for Notre Dame (3-1), including five in a crucial sequence late in the game. The Irish pulled away with an 11-0 run one night after blowing an eight-point lead in the final five minutes of an overtime loss to Saint Joseph's.

Tyler Haws had 21 points and eight rebounds for the Cougars (2-2), who have lost two straight.

Notre Dame took a 58-51 lead with a 15-4 run midway through the second half and had an answer every time the Cougars tried to draw even. Haws' jumper cut the Irish's lead to 63-61 with 4:33 to play, but Atkins sparked the pivotal 11-0 run by hitting a 3-pointer and a layup on consecutive possessions.

Brigham Young was hurt by the fact that junior foward Brandon Davies, their best post player, missed signficant time after picking up his fourth foul early in the second half. He finished with 12 points and five rebounds.

GAME NOTEBOOK: The game was tied at 49 when Davies picked up his fourth foul with 11:27 left. He returned with 5:51 left and Notre Dame leading 60-57. ... The Fighting Irish were only 1-of-6 from beyond the arc in the first half. ... Haws, who led the Cougars with 23 points Friday night, was only 2-of-10 in the first half.
