No. 12 Florida erased a 12-point second-half deficit and stormed past No. 24 Vanderbilt, 77-66, in Saturday’s SEC semifinals at the Georgia Dome in Atlanta.

The Gators (26-6) will face No. 16 Kentucky (24-8) at 1 p.m. Sunday for the championship. The teams split during the regular season, each winning at home. Florida is gunning for its fourth SEC tournament title, having won three straight from 2005-07.

With the game tied at 57, Florida’s backcourt of Kenny Boynton and Erving Walker erupted. Boynton buried two 3-pointers, and Walker nailed one, as they combined for 12 straight Gators’ points. Boynton finished with 24 points, Walker with 17. Chandler Parsons added 16 points and nine rebounds.

The Commodores, who capitalized on 11 Florida turnovers to lead 36-28 at the break, got 21 points from Jeffery Taylor and 17 from Festus Ezeli. But John Jenkins, the SEC's leading scorer, was held to 10 points on 3-of-15 shooting.

It was Florida’s third win over Vanderbilt this season.
