Heat 114, 76ers 96: Chris Bosh scored 30 points and Mario Chalmers sparked a decisive run off the bench as Miami spoiled Philadelphia's home opener.
Chalmers finished with 18 points and Luol Deng added 15 for the Heat, who have opened the post-Lebron James era at 2-0. Dwyane Wade suffered through a 4-for-18 shooting night but contributed 10 assists for Miami as Bosh tallied at least 26 points in consecutive games for the first time since joining the organization in 2010-11.
Tony Wroten had 21 points and 10 assists for the 76ers, who have started the season with three straight losses a season after beginning with three straight wins. Brandon Davies scored a career-high 18 points on 7-of-9 shooting off the bench for Philadelphia.
The Heat scored the final five points of the third period and Chalmers hit a 3-pointer and converted a three-point play as Miami opened the fourth on a 12-4 spurt for a 99-87 lead. Chalmers drained a step-back 3-pointer from the right wing to push the lead to 16 with 3:20 left, and the Heat went on to close out the victory.
In a tightly played first half, Philadelphia shot 58 percent but committed 11 turnovers, and Bosh scored 18 points as the Heat knocked down eight 3-pointers for a 60-54 lead at the break. Miami pushed the edge to nine in the third before Philadelphia rallied for an 83-82 lead with three minutes left in the stanza.
GAME NOTEBOOK: Heat F Josh McRoberts played after missing the opener with a toe injury, but Fs Udonis Haslem (quad) and Danny Granger (hamstring) missed their second straight games. … The 76ers made their final seven shots in the first quarter but trailed 32-30. … Hall of Famers Julius Erving and Billy Cunningham were in attendance.
