Bulls 107, Hawks 103: Mike Dunleavy put up 22 points and Joakim Noah tallied 20 points and 12 rebounds as visiting Chicago ran its winning streak against Atlanta to five games.
Carlos Boozer added 17 points and 11 rebounds and Kirk Hinrich scored 14 — including 6-of-7 free throws in the final 40 seconds — as the Bulls won for the sixth time in seven games. Taj Gibson also scored 14 points and fellow reserve D.J. Augustin contributed 10 for Chicago, which played without guard Jimmy Butler (rib) for the second consecutive contest.
Jeff Teague poured in 26 points to lead the Hawks, who were without All-Star forward Paul Millsap (knee) for the second straight game. Shelvin Mack scored 17 points and Kyle Korver added 16 for Atlanta, which has lost nine of 10.
DeMarre Carroll's 3-pointer put the Hawks up 103-101 with 1:06 left, but Carroll fouled Hinrich shooting a 3-pointer on the ensuing possession and the three free throws put Chicago ahead for good. Atlanta forced a turnover and had a chance to take the lead before Teague stepped on the baseline and Hinrich hit two more foul shots.
Korver nailed his first three attempts from beyond the arc and Atlanta's lead was as large as 14 in the first, but the Bulls heated up in the second, getting 10 points from Dunleavy as they outscored the Hawks 34-21 and took a 54-51 halftime lead. Augustin banked in a buzzer-beating heave from beyond half-court to extend Chicago's lead to 80-75 entering the fourth, and the Bulls needed those three points.
GAME NOTEBOOK: Korver hit a 3-pointer on the first possession of the game to extend his NBA-record streak to 125 games with at least one from behind the arc. … Atlanta PF Mike Scott scored 12 points after averaging 25 over the previous two games. … The Bulls outrebounded the Hawks 48-42 and held a 42-38 edge in points in the paint.
