Suns 100, Celtics 94: Markieff Morris scored 18 points off the bench as one of six players scoring in double figures as Phoenix withstood visiting Boston.
Goran Dragic and Gerald Green each added 17 points for the Suns, who won their second straight game and third in their last four outings. Channing Frye notched 15 points and seven rebounds, Marcus Morris pitched in with 11 points and P.J. Tucker chipped in 10 points and a game-high 11 boards.
Rajon Rondo totaled 18 points and a game-high 10 assists for the Celtics, who have dropped two in a row after beginning February with four wins in five games. Brandon Bass turned in 18 points to go with eight rebounds, Jeff Green contributed 17 points and Jared Sullinger registered 11 points, eight rebounds and two blocks for Boston, which shot 39.1 percent.
The teams endured a back-and-forth third quarter that featured the Celtics pulling ahead by as many as 10 before Phoenix closed the stanza on a 20-5 run, capped by a 3-pointer from Marcus Morris at the buzzer for a 76-71 lead heading into the final frame. Boston, which fell behind by as many as 10 in the fourth, drew to within 97-94 on a pair of free throws from Jeff Green with 30.7 seconds left but Rondo and Sullinger's attempts to tie the game went for naught and Gerald Green and Frye helped seal the win from the free throw line.
Phoenix rode nine points from Gerald Green and seven from Tucker and closed the first quarter on an 8-0 run for a 29-21 lead. Seven straight points pulled Boston even at 48 with just over a minute left in the first half before Dragic touched a runner of the glass to give the Suns a 52-50 edge at intermission.
GAME NOTEBOOK: Phoenix improved to 12-8 against Eastern Conference teams this season, while the Celtics dropped to 4-19 against the West. ... Boston's reserves combined to shoot just 7-of-23, finishing with 21 points. ... Gerald Green has averaged 26 points in his last four games for the Suns.
