Hawks 88, Mavericks 87: Jeff Teague tallied 25 points and six assists and Al Horford collected 17 points and 12 rebounds and hit the game-winner with 4.2 seconds left as host Atlanta rallied from a 17-point deficit in the second half.
Paul Millsap added 15 points and Lou Williams scored 12 for the Hawks, who snapped a season-high three-game losing streak. DeMarre Carroll contributed nine points and 10 rebounds for the Hawks, who outscored Dallas 23-2 in fast-break points.
Dirk Nowitzki and Jose Calderon scored 16 apiece to lead the Mavericks, who dropped to 2-6 on the road. Shawn Marion added 15 points and 12 rebounds and DeJuan Blair grabbed a season-best 18 boards to go with nine points.
Atlanta led by as many as five in the first quarter before missing nine straight from the field while Dallas broke it open with a 16-0 run spanning the first two quarters. The Mavericks spread it out to 53-39 at halftime and withstood the Hawks' early surge in the third to take a 75-64 advantage into the final stanza.
Teague scored nine points in the fourth quarter and Millsap buried a 3-pointer from the top of the arc to pull Atlanta within 87-86. Both teams missed shots before Horford drained a 19-footer to give the Hawks their first lead since 3:14 left in the first quarter, and Dallas' Vince Carter misfired at the buzzer.
GAME NOTEBOOK: Hawks SF Kyle Korver (bruised ribs) missed a second consecutive game. Korver needs to hit a 3-pointer in his next game to match Dana Barros' NBA record of 89 consecutive games with at least one. … Calderon left in the third quarter with a right ankle injury. X-rays were negative, but he did not return. … The Mavericks dropped to 9-1 when leading after three quarters.
