David West scored 22 points and Chris Paul had 19 and 10 assists to lead the New Orleans Hornets to a 98-87 victory over the visiting Los Angeles Clippers on Wednesday.
Willie Green scored seven of his 17 points during a decisive third-quarter run as New Orleans (34-25) snapped a three-game losing streak and won for just the third time in 12 games.
Blake Griffin had 21 points and 13 rebounds for Los Angeles (21-37), which dropped to 2-8 on its current 11-game road trip.
Griffin’s basket pulled the Clippers within 53-50 with 7:24 left in the third quarter before Green scored seven straight New Orleans points to boost the lead to nine. Paul’s layup with 3:09 left capped a 15-4 run that put New Orleans ahead by 14 points.
Randy Foye had 15 points and nine assists and Chris Kaman scored 14 points for the Clippers.
New Orleans guard Marco Belinelli scored 12 points, all coming during a seven-minute sequence in the second quarter.
The Hornets shot 51.3 percent from the field and forced 21 turnovers.
Clippers guard Baron Davis missed the game with soreness in his left knee.
