Carmelo Anthony had 35 points and 11 rebounds and the Denver Nuggets pulled away late for their 10th straight home victory, a 111-94 win over the Orlando Magic on Tuesday.
Anthony scored 20 points in the first half and was 14-of-21 from the field overall as the Nuggets (15-9) closed the game with a 19-3 run.
J.J. Redick scored a career-high 29 points and Dwight Howard added 21 and 14 rebounds for the Magic (16-9), which went 1-3 on its road trip. Vince Carter scored 18 points.
Redick’s five-point play with 11:02 left gave Orlando an 83-82 lead. He made a 3-pointer and was fouled by J.R. Smith, who was also whistled for a technical foul.
Smith responded with eight of Denver’s next 10 points. He finished with 16 points.
Ty Lawson also scored 16 points with six assists and Nene had 10 points and 10 rebounds for the Nuggets, who were without starting point guard Chauncey Billups due to a sore wrist.
There were six technicals called, including one each on coaches George Karl of Denver and Stan Van Gundy of Orlando.
