Anthony Morrow scored 19 points and the New Jersey Nets rallied for a 93-88 home victory over the Memphis Grizzlies on Wednesday.
The Nets (14-32) trailed by 16 points after the opening quarter but outscored the Grizzlies, 33-22, in the final period to complete a 4-1 homestand, which began with ownership's decision to end pursuit of Denver superstar Carmelo Anthony.
Rudy Gay scored 22 points for Memphis (22-24), which saw its three-game winning streak end.
New Jersey trailed 32-16 after one quarter and by 11 points at halftime before holding Memphis to 35 second-half points. The Grizzlies had just 13 points in the third quarter.
Zach Randolph’s layup with 25 seconds left pulled Memphis within 88-87. New Jersey’s Devin Harris hit two free throws with 10.6 seconds remaining. Gay and Sasha Vujacic traded free throws before O.J. Mayo missed a potential tying 3-pointer with three seconds to play.
Brook Lopez scored 17 points and Kris Humphries and Sasha Vujacic added 14 apiece for New Jersey.
Randolph had 20 points and 16 rebounds for his 12th consecutive double-double and Mike Conley added 16 points for the Grizzlies.
