Kobe Bryant scored 27 points and Pau Gasol added 20 of his own as the Los Angeles Lakers increased their winning streak to seven games with a 100-88 home victory over the New Jersey Nets on Friday night.
Lamar Odom had 14 points and 11 rebounds for the Lakers, who swept the season series for the third consecutive season. Ron Artest scored 14 points and Shannon Brown had 12.
The Lakers won the game at the free-throw line, making 25 of 35 shots. Gasol was 8 of 8 and Bryant went 7 of 9.
Brook Lopez led the Nets with 35 points on 13-of-18 shooting and added six rebounds. In their return to Los Angeles, former Lakers Sasha Vujacic and Jordan Farmar had 17 and 12 points respectively.
Vujacic’s 3-pointer got New Jersey within 78-76 with just under eight minutes left in the fourth before the Lakers used a 9-0 run that concluded with a Bryant 3-pointer to regain control.
Kris Humphries notched 15 rebounds for the Nets, who have dropped seven straight on the road.
