Mo Williams scored 18 of his 28 points in the first half and took over down the stretch as the Los Angeles Clippers torched the nets before the break en route to a surprising 108-103 victory over the host Boston Celtics on Wednesday.
DeAndre Jordan scored 21 points on 9-of-10 shooting - including seven dunks - for the Clippers, who shot 67.6 percent (23 of 34) in the first half to forge a 60-42 lead, paving the way to a season-high fourth straight win.
Blake Griffin had 12 points, seven rebounds and five assists as Los Angeles won just its seventh road game of the season.
Ray Allen scored 23 points and Nenad Krstic added 20 as the Celtics had a five-game winning streak snapped and lost for the first time since Krstic and Jeff Green joined the lineup. It was the fourth time in five games that the league’s top defensive team yielded over 100 points.
Williams scored six points as Los Angeles used a 13-0 run in the first quarter to build a 30-17 edge. He connected on 7 of 8 shots, including 3 of 4 from the arc, in the first half.
The Clippers pushed the lead to as many as 20 in the second quarter. Boston got as close as 86-83 with a 10-0 run midway through the fourth period before Williams put the Celtics away.
He hit three free throws with 5:22 left, drained a pair of 3-pointers and fed Jordan for a dunk that rebuilt the margin to 102-93 with 2:14 left. Los Angeles then weathered a late 3-point barrage by Boston.
