Randal Grichuk hit a three-run home run and had four RBIs, Teoscar Hernandez added a solo homer and three RBIs and the Toronto Blue Jays defeated the visiting Baltimore Orioles 12-4 Saturday afternoon at Buffalo.
Vladimir Guerrero Jr. added a two-run home run for the Blue Jays, who have won two of the first three games of the four-game series. Bo Bichette had three of Toronto's 15 hits with an RBI double.
Blue Jays left-hander Hyun Jin Ryu (7-4) allowed four runs, seven hits and two walks in 6 2/3 innings.
Orioles left-hander Keegan Akin (0-4) allowed six runs, seven hits and one walk in 4 1/3 innings.
Orioles shortstop Freddy Galvis left the game in the second inning after limping into first base on a bunt single. Stevie Wikerson ran for him. It was the second hit of the inning for Baltimore, but Maikel Franco bounced into a double play to blunt the chances of a rally.
The Blue Jays scored four runs with two out in the third inning. Marcus Semien and Bo Bichette doubled and Guerrero hit his MLB-leading 26th homer of the season and Hernandez hit his 11th.
The Blue Jays added four in the fifth. Bichette doubled with one out, Guerrero walked and Akin was replaced by Konner Wade, who was making his major league debut. With two out, George Springer blooped an RBI single near the left-field line that bounced off the diving shortstop Pat Valaika's glove. Grichuk followed with his 14th homer of the season and the 20th of his career against the Orioles.
Toronto added four runs in the sixth against Wade. Hernandez had a two-run single with Springer and Grichuk adding RBI singles. Grichuk, who was 3-for-4 with a walk, has 51 career RBIs against the Orioles.
Ryu retired 15 batters in a row before Anthony Santander doubled off the center-field wall with one out in the seventh to start a four-run rally. Pedro Severino hit a two-run single and Cedric Mullins added a two-run double.
Jacob Barnes replaced Ryu to get the final out of the seventh and pitched a perfect eighth.
