Dodgers 7, Rockies 2: Dee Gordon tripled twice among his three hits and drove in three runs as visiting Los Angeles spoiled the major-league debut of highly touted right-hander Eddie Butler.
Dodgers left-hander Hyun-Jin Ryu (7-2) improved to 5-0 in six road starts this season after allowing two runs and eight hits in six innings. Hanley Ramirez had two hits and two RBIs while Drew Butera and Matt Kemp also drove in runs for Los Angeles, which is 19-11 on the road.
Butler, a first-round draft pick in 2012 by the Rockies, yielded six runs and 10 hits while walking three and striking out two in 5 1/3 innings as Colorado lost its eighth straight game. Drew Stubbs homered and Charlie Culberson recorded an RBI triple for the Rockies, who fell for the 12th time in their last 14 contests.
Los Angeles wasted no time getting to Butler as Gordon led off with a triple and scored on Ramirez's groundout. The Dodgers took a 2-0 lead in the second on Butera's two-out RBI double and went in front 4-0 in the fifth when Ryu led off with a double and came home on Gordon's triple before Ramirez followed with a single.
After Justin Turner singled and Butera walked to start the sixth, they moved up a base on Ryu's sacrifice and scored on Gordon's two-run single to center to make it 6-0. Colorado got on the board in the bottom half as Stubbs delivered a solo shot, Michael McKenry doubled and Culberson tripled.
GAME NOTEBOOK: Dodgers RF Yasiel Puig went 1-for-5 to extended his streak of reaching base safely to 37 games - tying Toronto's Jose Bautista for the longest run of the season. ... The Rockies' Michael Cuddyer did not play after injuring his left shoulder in the ninth inning of Thursday's 12-7 loss to Arizona. ... Dodgers INF Miguel Rojas made his major-league debut as a defensive replacement for Ramirez in the eighth inning, and committed a fielding error on his first chance.
