Brewers 7, Rockies 5: Juan Francisco belted a two-run homer and Jonathan Lucroy also went deep as visiting Milwaukee evened its series with Colorado at one game apiece.
Jean Segura broke out of a 2-for-21 slump with a pair of RBI singles before exiting with a tight right forearm after he was hit by a pitch. Caleb Gindl added a run-scoring double and Carlos Gomez continued his sizzling stretch with a pair of hits, an RBI, a run scored and three stolen bases as the Brewers won for just the second time in six games.
Tom Gorzelanny (2-4), who allowed four runs on six hits in 5 1/3 innings, breezed through the Rockies before Troy Tulowitzki's RBI single and Wilin Rosario's three-run homer in the sixth ended his evening. Milwaukee overcame Tulowitzki's 18th homer in the eighth inning and a 1-hour, 45-minute rain delay before Jim Henderson struck out a pair in the ninth for his 12th save.
Milwaukee wasted little time jumping on Collin McHugh (0-2), who was replacing injured left-hander Drew Pomeranz in the rotation. Segura opened the scoring with an RBI single in the first and gave the Brewers a 4-0 lead in the second by plating Norichika Aoki. Francisco extended the advantage to six with a two-run blast in the third.
After Colorado trimmed the deficit with a spirited sixth inning, Lucroy belted his National League-leading 15th homer among catchers in the seventh.
GAME NOTEBOOK: Gomez, who went 2-for-3, is 10-for-16 with five RBIs in his last four games. ... Colorado LF Carlos Gonzalez missed his second straight game with a sprained right middle finger. ... Acquired from the New York Mets for OF Eric Young Jr., McHugh permitted six runs on nine hits in five innings to take the loss.
