Orioles 8,
Blue Jays 5: Adam Jones and J.J. Hardy each had three-run homers and Chris Davis also went deep as Baltimore outslugged visiting Toronto.
The three blasts made a winner out of Chris Tillman (11-3), who surrendered three runs on eight hits while fanning five over six innings. Tillman overcame homers to J.P. Arencibia and Edwin Encarnacion to win for the eighth time in nine decisions.
Toronto counterpart Mark Buehrle (5-6) was torched for eight runs on nine hits over his six-inning stint. Buehrle allowed all three homers after being taken deep just twice over his previous 11 starts.
The teams traded two-run shots in the second, as Arencibia sent a blast to center field and Davis followed suit to left for his major league-leading 35th home run. Encarnacion's solo shot to left in the third briefly put Toronto back in front, but Jones responded in the bottom of the inning with a three-run homer well into the seats in left-center.
Hardy extended the advantage in the sixth, ripping a Buehrle offering into the left-field seats for his 16th homer. Toronto's Adam Lind hit a two-run double in the ninth to close the gap, but Jim Johnson came on and induced a Colby Rasmus groundout to earn his 32nd save.
GAME NOTEBOOK: Davis is two home runs shy of the American League record for home runs before the All-Star break, set by Oakland's Reggie Jackson in 1969. Barry Bonds owns the major-league record of 39 first-half home runs set in 2001 with San Francisco. ... Toronto leads the season series 6-5. ... Blue Jays SS Jose Reyes went 3-for-5 and is hitting .279 in 16 games since returning from an ankle injury that cost him 2 1/2 months.
