Diamondbacks 5, Dodgers 1: Wade Miley pitched 6 2/3 solid innings and Willie Bloomquist had three hits as visiting Arizona snapped a three-game losing streak.
Miley (4-1) allowed one run and eight hits as the Diamondbacks won for only the third time in 13 games and halted Los Angeles’ five-game winning streak.
Arizona sent nine batters to the plate in the fifth when it scored three times on six straight singles to take a 4-0 lead. Justin Upton’s infield single off Chad Billingsley (2-3) plated the first run and Miguel Montero and Jason Kubel followed with run-scoring singles.
Mark Ellis got the Dodgers on the board with a booming homer to center in the sixth. Ellis had three of Los Angeles’ 10 hits.
Lyle Overbay hit a sacrifice fly in the seventh to boost Arizona’s lead to 5-1.
The Dodgers had two runners on base with two out in the seventh before Bryan Shaw replaced Miley and retired Ellis on a fly to center.
Arizona scored a run in the second when Gerardo Parra walked with the bases loaded.
Billingsley allowed four runs and eight hits in four-plus innings in his sixth consecutive winless outing.
GAME NOTEBOOK: Kubel went 2-for-4 for his third multi-hit outing in four games. … Dodgers catcher A.J.
