Dodgers 11, Pirates 0: Luis Cruz tied career highs with three hits and three RBIs, and Chad Billingsley pitched eight scoreless innings to win his fifth straight start for visiting Los Angeles, which has taken the first two games of a key series between playoff contenders.
Billingsley (9-9) struck out five and allowed five hits before being lifted for a pinch hitter after 107 pitches and denied a chance to finish off his first shutout since 2010. He improved to 7-1 all-time against Pittsburgh.
The Dodgers broke it open with a three-run fourth inning capped by Cruz's two-run single. The former Pirate added an RBI single in the two-run sixth. A five-run ninth gave Los Angeles its most lopsided win since a 15-1 rout of Pittsburgh on Sept. 18, 2011.
Kevin Correia (9-7) didn't make much of a case to stick in the Pirates' rotation, allowing six runs (five earned) on seven hits over six innings to snap a career-best streak of seven straight wins.
Matt Kemp went 2-for-5 with an RBI for the Dodgers. He has recorded multiple hits in five of the past six games.
