Brewers 8, Mets 0: Travis Ishikawa homered twice and had a career-best five RBIs and Zack Greinke pitched seven shutout innings for visiting Milwaukee.
Ishikawa hit a solo shot in the fifth inning and added a three-run blast in the sixth off New York starter Dillon Gee for his first career multi-homer game as the Brewers won for only the third time in 10 games.
Greinke (4-1) gave up five hits in seven innings in his second consecutive dominant outing. He struck out seven and walked none.
Milwaukee gave Greinke two runs to work with in the second. Aramis Ramirez walked, moved to third on a double by Jonathan Lucroy and scored on a groundout by Ishikawa. Lucroy came home on a single by Cesar Izturis.
Ishikawa, who had three of Milwaukee’s 11 hits, led off the fifth with a homer to make it 3-0.
Lucroy had a run-scoring single in the sixth prior to Ishikawa’s homer to center that stretched the lead to 7-0.
Rickie Weeks homered in the seventh for the Brewers. New York reliever D.J. Carrasco, who surrendered the home run, was ejected for hitting Ryan Braun on the very next pitch.
Gee (2-3) allowed seven runs and eight hits in 5 1/3 innings.
