Braves 6, Phillies 2: Chipper Jones homered to reach another milestone in his legendary career as host Atlanta swept Philadelphia to run its winning streak to five.

Jones hit a solo blast in the third inning, moving past Pete Rose into second place on the list of career extra-base hits by a switch hitter (1,042). Jason Heyward homered and Dan Uggla drove in a run in a two-run first inning.

Tim Hudson (10-4) pitched into the sixth inning, improving to 6-1 since June 14. Hudson allowed seven hits and two runs in 5 2/3 innings, with no walks and five strikeouts.

Heyward connected on a line-drive homer to right in the first off Philadelphia starter Roy Halladay (4-6), his 16th of the season. Uggla drove in Jones later in the inning on a double that one-hopped the left-field wall, putting the Braves ahead 2-0.

Jones drove his 464th career homer into the right-field seats on the first pitch of the third inning, pushing Atlanta’s advantage to 3-0. Jones finished 2-for-4.

Philadelphia’s Shane Victorino homered leading off the fourth inning, his ninth of the season. In the sixth, Victorino, who finished 3-for-4 with two runs scored, singled and later scored on a Carlos Ruiz single to center as the Phillies pulled within 3-2.

Atlanta pulled away with a three-run seventh. Tyler Pastornicky scored on an error, and Freddie Freeman lined a single to left to score Martin Prado and Heyward to give Atlanta a 6-2 lead.

Halladay gave up six hits and three runs in six innings, with one walk and seven strikeouts. He fanned David Ross in the first for his 2,000th career strikeout.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Jones, 40, has a hit in 24 of his past 27 games and leads the Braves in hitting at .317. Hall of Famer Eddie Murray holds the career mark for most extra-base hits by a switch hitter at 1,099. … Halladay has allowed 18 hits and 11 runs in 11 1/3 innings against Atlanta this season. … Halladay has not won in three starts since returning from the disabled list. His last victory was May 17.
