Matt Downs belted a pinch-hit, two-run homer to cap Houston's four-run ninth inning against Texas closer Neftali Feliz as the Astros recorded a 5-3 road win over the Rangers on Wednesday.
The Rangers took a 3-1 lead to the ninth and were within two outs of wrapping up a three-game sweep, but Chris Johnson had an RBI double and scored the tying run on a passed ball that got by Yorvit Torrealba.
Downs followed with a blast to left for his second career pinch-hit home run, giving Houston its third win in 15 games against the Rangers since 2009.
Houston's rally spoiled a great outing by Rangers starter Colby Lewis, who struck out eight in seven scoreless innings.
Nelson Cruz hit his team-leading 17th home run and Josh Hamilton went 1-for-2 and has hit safely in 17 consecutive interleague games.
Houston's Jeff Keppinger extended his hitting streak to 10 games with a double in the fourth.
