Erick Aybar belted a three-run homer to highlight a five-run uprising in the eighth inning and Maicer Izturis had an RBI single in the ninth as the Los Angeles Angels rallied to a 6-5 road victory over the Minnesota Twins on Friday.
After tripling to lead off the ninth, Peter Bourjos came around to score on Izturis' single to right.
Aybar finished 2-for-5 with three RBIs for the Angels.
Scott Downs (3-1) got the win after pitching two-thirds of an inning of scoreless relief. Closer Jordan Walden tossed a scoreless ninth inning to earn his 11th save of the season.
The Minnesota bullpen blew a stellar start from Scott Baker, who pitched seven scoreless innings and struck out six. Minnesota reliever Jim Hoey (0-2) gave up two runs to take the loss.
The loss continued the struggles for Minnesota, which has dropped five of its last seven games.
